The film takes inspiration from real events that occurred in Guna Cave in 2006. The story of the film is resolved around a group of friends hailing from Kochi. They plan to go to Kodaikanal for fun but their luck takes an unexpected turn when one of them is trapped in the Guna Caves.

The director took his Twitter account and shared, ‘Manjummel Boys is now entered 100 Crore Club Worldwide Gross in the history of Mollywood’. The movie has achieved the milestone in just the 13th day of theater release and can achieve more milestones in the upcoming days.
In Tamil Nadu, the film has earned 20 Crores which is considered very best.
