Firstly, the filmmakers were aiming to release the film on the occasion of Dasara but unfortunately did not happen. Later the film was released on 29th December 2023. The film was released in 9 different countries including USA, Canada, UK, Germany, and Ireland.
From Day 1, the film was getting good reviews from the critics and earned a good amount of money from the Box Office. Now the film becomes the seventh high-grossing Kannada film after Kantara.
The filmmakers announced that the movie had earned ₹190.89 crores in Days, but according to other websites like Hindustan Times, the film earned only Rs 80 crores worldwide. The weekly collection and the footfalls don’t match.

Kaatera Movie Budget
The film has been made at a budget of ₹45 crores inclusive of paid promotion and cast fees. The OTT rights and digital rights are bought by Zee Kannada and Zee5.
The Kaatera movie is inspired by a real-life incident in a Karnataka Village in the 1970s. In the film, Kaatera faced many challenges to help the farmers of his village and implement the Land Reforms Act.
